I'm back with another magical card for HeartcraftPaper. A few weeks ago I made a slider card using the digital image Harold, as he was flying over Hogwarts in an attempt to catch the snitch. As I often do, I colored two images at the same time and decided to use the larger image for my card today. My goal for this card was to create movement. I wanted it to look like our magical player was flying at lightening speed after that golden snitch. I also wanted to keep a very simple color palette, with a bold section of black. On a piece of white cardstock, I inked lines of Black Soot Distress Oxide ink radiating out from where Harold's hand would be, outward toward the opposite corner. I staggered the lines at will, using the edge of a scrap of acetate and my blender. To bring in a bit more color, I blended in Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink, being careful not to blend into the black lines too much. I trimmed down my inked panel, cutting a deep diagonal from the lower left. I mounted this inked panel onto the black cardstock using foam tape, then added our amazing Quidditch player on top, also using foam tape. Lastly, I added the sentiment "Have A Wizin' Good Day" from Wizarding Sentiments, trimming off the stars that are part of the sentiment. I glued the sentiment flat to the inked panel and was done!
