This blog won't be too long, but I wanted to share a fun technique you can add to any card that gives it just that extra touch - stitching!
This week was busy!! Strawberry Jude Stamps is celebrating their 2nd Birthversary (Birthday/Anniversary) and Kindred Stamps held their November release! And, as it turns out, Craftin' Desert Divas had their November release this week as well! I was able to score their digital stamp Sweet as Pie as a freebie during their release, and I am so glad I did! That sweet little bunny is just too darn adorable! I printed the image on 80# Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored with my Copic markers. I knew I wanted to play with stitching on this card from the moment I saw it. So I layered a scrap of striped kraft over an A2 sized panel of ivory. I did use a bit of glue to hold it in place before stitching. I stamped the sentiment, from a Stampin Up Paper Pumpkin kit I believe, on a scrap of striped yellow cardstock. I carried everything to my sewing machine and used a zig zag stitch around the kraft panel. To adhere the sentiment tag, I only added a straight stitch to the far left edge. I added a touch of glue under the free end and popped up that dear sweet bunny on foam tape. I love the warmth of this card and didn't want to add too many extra elements, so I added a couple drops of Nuvo Crystal drops and said "I'm done!"
Isn't she just precious!
I created this card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! - It's A Stitch Up. Click here to see the designers' cards, all the challenge entries, and enter yourself!
Until next time.. xo
