Scrappy Boy Stamps February 2025 Release

It's time to kick off the February 2025 release with Scrappy Boy Stamps.  This month's Fairytale collection is a re-release of Little Mermaid in the current Scrappy Boy style.  I also created with the main release The Chance To FlyI colored all images with OLO Markers, using a Gelly Roll Pen - White to add minor highlights.  Scroll to the bottom for a list of OLO alcohol marker colors used.  (Affiliate links are used when available; I appreciate your support!)

Supplies used:
Little Mermaid Collection
A2 Trio Fold Card Die Set
Under the Sea Scene Builder Die Set
Spellbook Mini Album Die
Wonky Stitched Rectangle Dies
Shipwrecked Scene Builder Stencil

I thought it would be fun to show the Spellbook Mini Album Die in a different way.  Instead of creating a shaped album, I used the stitched layer on my card front and cut the "r" from "your" to create a die cut sentiment perfect for this young couple - "I love you".

Supplies used:
The Chance To Fly Collection
A2 Trio Fold Card Die Set
Box Making Strips Die Set
Gate Mini Album Die
A2 OZ Scene Builder Die
Music Notes & Hearts Layered Background Stencils

To create this box, I partially die cut the Gate Mini Album Die so that the stitched panel would fit onto the 6"x6" patterned paper.  Then, using that stitched panel, I trimmed the base layer (for the lid and base of the box) so that the thin white border was even around the stitched panel.  I used the two thinner box strips for the box - the narrowest strip for the lid and the middle size for the box base.  I used my paper trimmer to slice off the little teeth/flaps along one side of the strips since I was only adhering them to one side.  I decided to start and end strips, if possible, at the bottom corners.  While a bit fiddly, the ability to easily create a curved box was made much easier this way.

I am super proud of the shading on both of these beautiful ladies.  I did all of the black coloring/shading on the green witch first, then used YG1.4 over the lighter areas to give it that green "sheen".  I think it worked!  It is subtle, but definitely there.

While the stencil didn't necessarily cooperate (since I did not use Pixie Spray to adhere the stencil to my card panel), I still loved the look of the Music Notes & Hearts Layered Background Stencils.  I requested this stencil pair specifically for use with these two ladies.  I think it would be great with the mermaid collection above as well!  (And so many other sets too.)
