No-bulk Matchbook ATCs

I participated in the October Creatures of the Night ATC swap with Gecko Galz and created a trio of matchbook style ATCs for my swap partner.  She lives in Australia so I wanted them to be as flat as possible to reduce bulk.  I told her I wouldn't share the trio I sent to her in the Gecko Galz Facebook group, so I made a fourth example with instructional graphic for those that want to replicate this style.  I will say, these are loads of fun and very slim.  I hope you will give them a try!

Cut a strip of paper 7 3/8" long x 2.5" wide and score along the 7 3/8" at 0.75" and 4.25", as seen above.  I inked the paper for interest.  I used the printable ATC backgrounds and images Gecko Galz provided free (HERE) for this swap.

I matted the front of the matchbook and glued my image inside where it will be seen when opened.  Note, I only glued the bottom 1/3 of the inner image, to allow better movement and give the ATC more of the matchbook feel.  I also added a line of glue along the inside of smaller flap before folding up and stapling, seen above.  The smaller strip of paper is to both mat the flap and cover the staple.

Next, embellish!  Since there is movement with lifting the front flap, you can add embellishments that hang over the stapled flap at the bottom, as seen.

I just love how these came together and plan on using this design again and again.  Pictured below are the three ATCs I sent to my swap partner down under.
