Sometimes it is easier to find ways to fill a card's space than it is to create a simple, yet striking, design. For the My Favorite Things Design Superstar contest, I thought to play with my love of soft lavender with hints of its complement, yellow. Initially, my thoughts were to cut these beautiful stitched flowers from white cardstock, but I grabbed a sheet of vellum by accident. Quite serendipitous really! I love the soft, delicate effect of the vellum on the card! I puttied on some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Lilac Lavender and added touches in the flower centers in Lemon Sorbet. I cut the Hello into a strip of simple white cardstock and foam mounted it in the center of the shimmery lavender. I made a total of 8 flowers, but decided that only 4 seemed to do the trick! I think the card is very delicate, feminine, and makes me smile.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this design. Do you think it is a keeper, too?

Gorgeous card. Love, love the soft look of the vellum.
