One of the sweetest stamp images I've found is the cuddling pair of manatees from Beth Duff Designs's Manatee Love stamp set. This set is a Get Kids Crafty exclusive, which so lovingly means that a portion of the profits go into a scholarship fund.
With Mother's Day having passed and Father's Day approaching, I think we still need to remember that we can't celebrate those days without, well, our children. So, maybe this year, give your kid a card too.
I created the soft water background using alcohol inks on photo paper (hence the somewhat ragged die cut edge), using a paint brush and 90% alcohol. I actually set up my work station in a plastic bag in the kitchen sink, something I will do every time now. What an easy clean up! I used the fun Mama Elephant die set called Fish Tank, which includes the coral (or seaweed in my case) and the fish. I did trim up the coral piece so I could tuck it in tighter to the bottom of the bowl.
I had this manatee loosely colored and cut with the stamp set for a future project. The sentiment is from my stash. A scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew on the card front and as air bubbles from the cuddly pair completed the card.
I know there are several manatee sets available, but the sweet faces and more realistic appearance set Manatee Love apart. Thank you for tagging along! Until next time.. xo
