I adore otters. They are so fun to watch and they have the sweetest little faces. Beth Duff Designs had released a digital set called Life's Greatest Blessing that featured a wonderful collection of these little guys. I colored up the entire set during last month's The Daily Marker 30 Day coloring challenge and thought it was about time the images were used.
I found this beautiful pearl textured cardstock in my stash from Bazzill, trimmed to 4 1/8" x 5 3/8". I used a Hero Arts stencil and Nuvo Embellishment Mousse to create the wave pattern in the background, and a Hero Arts Fancy Die for the seaweed. I elected to leave the seaweed white to keep the focus on the sweet otters and to keep the colors crisp and cool. I mounted the sentiment and otters with foam adhesive, and glued the seaweed flat to the card panel. The panel was then adhered to a top-folding A2 sized notecard.
It is hard to capture all of the subtle shimmer, but it is lovely This card makes my heart smile and makes me think of my girls.
Sadly, these otters have been retired, but maybe you will see them again in the future. Until next time.. xo
