La Vie Paris Challenge with Gecko Galz

I'm on the Gecko Galz blog today with projects following the challenge theme this month -- La Vie Paris.

I printed the images, lightly colored with alcohol markers, then foiled them with gold Deco Foil.  I die cut them using a plain circle die in my stash and added a gold foil layer behind.

To create the rosette (since the foiled centers were nearly 3" in diameter), cut a piece of patterned paper 12" x 5.25" and score along the long 12" side every 0.25".  Next, I cut the scored paper into 3 strips of paper that measured 12" x 1.75".  Finally, cut one of the three strips in half creating 2 strips 6" x 1.75".  Glue one shorter strip to the end of one longer strip, overlapping one of the 0.25" scored sections then accordion fold the strips.  When finished, glue the two ends of the folded strips together and then smoosh it flat to create the circular rosette.  Hot glue a circle of paper to the back of the rosette to hold it together.  I added a piece of eyelash yarn around the back of the foiled center piece and then hot glued it to the top of the rosette.

My last project is a mini pocket folder album.  (I just made that up.  LOL  It is a very simple design with pocket on inner right and tuck spot on inner left.  You could easily add pages/signature in the style of a traveler's notebook to record a special event.

To create this mini pocket folder album (ha!), cut a piece of paper for the cover measuring 6" x 12" and score along the 12" side at 4.5" and 9.5".  Fold both outer sections in creating the base.  My paper was single sided so I kept my design facing out.

To create the tuck spot on the left, I merely glued the left and bottom sides of the postcard.  Seam binding was wrapped around the cover to tie the album closed (and keep your precious goodies from falling out as easily).  I foiled the carriage stamp, adhering on the inner right pocket, and added the foil negative to the front cover.
