Welcome to the second day of August release peeks with Kindred Stamps. Today, I created a trio of projects using Spike, our latest sports themed stamp set, as well as a card using the new Celebrate word die.
I inked the Mardi Gras Beads Stencil and a retired star stencil for the tag, layering newspaper along one side.
I embossed the Stars and Stripes Stencil with Prismatic Embossing Powder for a sparkly background.
For the beach volleyball card, I lightly inked sand with a torn edge of paper and lightly added a sunny blue sky behind the diecut Carnival Scene Die.
I also had fun using the new word die Celebrate. I don't know why I struggle with word dies, but I do! LOL Please tell me I'm not alone.. I embossed the scripty word with both Snowfall and Rose Gold Embossing Powders -- I think this technique looks super fun. I stacked it atop another diecut word for dimension and glued on the white shadow layer. I inked a twinkling of stars in white over my navy card panel and layered gold and vellum stars behind the word.
I think the card has a very clean feel considering the various elements. The gold adds perfect shine for anything celebratory and the vellum adds just enough interest without stealing the show.
