Wow, what a fun experience!! I posted about my acceptance as a Guest Designer for an upcoming Kindred Stamps release, and the time has finally come! Big release tomorrow, September 22! You will NOT want to miss the fun new sets launching then. Oh happy FriYAY! Make sure to follow the Blog Hop at the bottom of this blog post to see all of the previews AND participate in a chance to win a stamp set from this release!!
The guest designers were not privy to any new release information until Kindred Stamps emailed us our assigned set. I was happily given Spooky Family. Audra so perfectly captured the essence of the Addams Family with Gomez, Moriticia, Wednesday, and Pugsley characters, as well as a handful of sentiments that scream all things Addams (snap snap)!
My mind instantly started racing with fun ideas for these spooky little people.. My goal was to create items to display every character at least once, and of course, Wednesday was used multiple times. :) How could you not.. look at that, err, happy face? :)
All was well until it was time to color. Black on black is not easy, but I played with a couple images until I could create enough individual definition between hair and clothes on the ladies.
Instead of shading into the center of her dress, as we often do, I shaded outward, creating a lighter outline to allow for better definition of her braids. Once I got that straightened out, Wednesday was a quick color!
How cute is this spooky couple.. Cara Mia!! (xx) I added the pinstripes with C7 and love how much character it adds to Gomez!
This spinner was fun, and much easier to make than I anticipated! I wanted to include the siblings in front of a simple scene. They are both suspended using invisible thread, which is adhered between the top panel and base card front.
Thank you so much for joining me in introducing the newest Kindred Stamps release Spooky Family! It is perfect for Halloween, but, let's be honest, this set is perfect year round!!
I would love to hear which card design was your favorite! How do you plan on playing with this Spooky Family set? So many ideas.. ;)

I love the “quirky” Wednesday, but they’re all fabulous! Thanks for the designs—can’t wait to play. I’d love to know what colors you used for Wednesday.
I started smiling when I saw what the next set Kindred Stamps created! The Addams family is one of my favorite! You did so much with Wednesday!I like it down to how the coloring makes her hair look shiny .And Gomez an Moriticia Miss Frolicking Fairy a fabulous job!
Oh my goodness, these are brilliant! Such fun designs using them too – fantastic! :) x
Stunning cards! I loved the black shading technique you used! I will definitely have to try that!!
I absolutely LOVE how you colored Wednesday! Black on black is so hard for me, and coloring with the darker part in the middle was brilliant to show off the braids!
