Welcome to the end of sneak peek week with Kindred Stamps. Last month, Kindred Stamps relaunched Galactic Fighters and Galactic Sidekicks. But today, I have the pleasure of sharing my collection of projects using both sets being unveiled -- Galactic Origins and You're A Queen. (Affiliate links used; thank you! I stamped all images twice -- first with a crisp black outline, and then again with the remaining ink for a softer grey outline. All images with colored with Spectrum Noir TriBlend alcohol markers. I used all the browns, dark red, and all the greys. :)
For the pair of galaxy heart cards, I created a larger mask for the Heart Layers Stencil piece shown below, to avoid getting any ink outside the outer rim of the heart stencil. To create the mask, I traced the inside and outside of the heart stencil and just cut between the two lines. Just be sure to cut only from within; I do not suggest cutting from outer edge of paper mask and then removing the inner section. Just stab a hole in the middle and then cut around.
I adding messy smudges of Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide (from small shop PieceCraftLove or Amazon affiliate) and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide (PieceCraftLove or Amazon affiliate) inside the heart. Then I came in with Black Soot, (PieceCraftLove or Amazon affiliate) heavier in the areas lacking the other colors and then blending around the colors there. Trust me, this was not a very scientific process. If you want me to demonstrate on a Facebook Live, please comment below. Next, I removed the stencil and mask, plopped the card into a box and spritzed (a bit too close on the card above) with Gloss Spray in White (PieceCraftLove or Amazon affiliate). (LOVE THIS STUFF!) This is my new favorite technique. LOL
I used the Card Builder Basics Dies to cut the kraft panel and stars in the next card above. I sprayed the stitched panel with White (PieceCraftLove or Amazon affiliate) and gold (Gilt) (PieceCraftLove or Amazon affiliate) gloss spray and then added the elements. The white circle was actually cut out by my youngest daughter (5 years old). She said she didn't need it so I was delighted to steal and use on this card. I love the uneven nature of it. :) And I know she is proud I used her trash.
For the holiday cards, I used the Card Builder Basics Dies to cut all elements but the Christmas tree (that die is from Jaded Blossom). Don't you just love them?!
For this beautiful queen, I inked the foreground in gold (it is very subtle) with the Damask Stencil and framed her in gold foil.
My final project features the queen in both plain clothes and in her regal gown in an interactive Peek A Boo Flip card. (There are several tutorials available on YouTube if you search.)
The inside and outside panels were inked in gold shimmer ink with the Damask Stencil. As you open the card, the panel with the crowned queen emerges.
Ta-da!
