Kindred Stamps: Friends Furever

Welcome to the second day of August release peeks with Kindred Stamps. Today, I created a collection of projects using Friends Furever, our latest fandom set. I love this ornery cat and lovable dog.  I used a comic strip theme for my projects, pulling from various dies to complete these rather CAS (clean and simple) projects.

This slimline design was my initial idea upon receiving this set.  I knew I wanted to mimic the feel of a comic strip and elected for simple primary color blocks (2" square), mounted with dimension (old cereal boxes) to 2 1/8" black squares.  I eyeballed thier alignment and fit the white panel about it -- 3" x 8" -- then that white panel atop a black card.  I love how striking and simple the layout is.  And I hope it is easy enough to inspire those of you to recreate IF you want.  LOL  I stamped the sentiment on the next to shortest sentiment strip.

For my second project, I created another CAS layout for the "pawlidays".  I sketched a Santa hat for our orange kitty (see pic below, available for you to save and print using the 1" square for scale).

The snowflakes were stenciled onto the card front and the 3" blue square using a retired stencil from Kindred.  The string of lights is happily from the Dog House Die; I merely snipped off the longer tail on the one end before adhering.

My final projects are a pair of rolodex cards -- each one featuring a single character.  Again, I wanted to keep solid (mostly) primary colors.  I layered old newsprint atop my blank rolodex card for the cat and converted the TV Time Craft Die into a shaker element.  My girls and I both wanted to have kitty inside the TV screen, but I couldn't accommodate the sentiment well with him inside (and I wanted to use the lasagna sentiment).  I think I may keep this pair of cards for myself.  I just love them too much.  LOL
