I decided to play some more with the awesome Galactic Adventure stamp set from Kindred Stamps. I had so much fun creating the "Nice Buns" card (https://the-frolicking-fairy.myshopify.com/collections/the-frolicking-fairy-collection/products/nice-buns-princess), and wanted to do something with a stronger meaning.
The Women's March movement has been very dear to me, for many different reasons. So, to show respect for all the women out there fighting hard, I made this bookmark with the ever popular "A woman's place is in the resistance". Princess Leia was a not only a princess, but a strong, brave leader. It is no surprise that her character has been used within this movement.
I stamped her on Canson watercolor paper with Brilliance black ink. Not much color was needed for our star princess. Using my TomBow markers, I used two brown tones for her hair, and a single color for her skin, belt, cheeks, and dress accent. The water brush is brilliant at helping blend and move the color. I painted in a pink area above the princess to highlight the sentiment, which I stamped after letting the bookmarks dry. (Actually, I used my heat tool to speed up that process.) The sentiment was also stamped using Brilliance black ink. I actually used my new Tonic Studio's Stamp Platform to stamp this project. Good thing too, due to the texture of watercolor paper -- it is difficult to get a crisp stamped image the first time. Re-ink and repeat!
Using a Dylusions stencil, I applied two shades of pink distress ink to the card base. Then, I used my Crop-a-dile Big Bite to punch and set the eyelets. We had a fight, that little contraption and I. Not sure who won, but I learned a lesson -- I will lay a scrap piece of paper between the Big Bite and my finished work to avoid grease marks. (sheesh) I'm going to assume because it is new, but I won't take that gamble again. I'll thread some ribbon through the eyelet and card to attach the bookmark to the card front to finish them off.
I decided to share the love and gave one of these bookmark cards away on my Instagram and Facebook pages. (Thank you to those that participated!)

NOW FOR THE FUN NEWS... I just finished writing a little children's book. It is not terribly long, but it is written in verse. A dear friend challenged me to complete this, and she is going to blow everyone away with her watercolor illustrations. So, stay tuned...
Until later, my friends.. xo
