Growing Flower

For this month's Fairy Tale Mail cards, I used Lawn Fawn's Little Flowers and Spring Fling Petite Paper Pad to create a fun growing flower card!  I purchased both items from Scrapbook Pal (and every Copic re-inker I ever need.. lol).  I also used the Little Flowers dies to hide a wee ninja in a second card below.

I used Waffle Flower's pull tab slider die set, but definitely could have used Lawn Fawn's Let's Toaster Pull Tab Add-on die set.  I decided where I wanted the flower pot to go and marked the floral panel with a pencil.  Using the appropriate die, I cut the slider channel between the marks, making sure the channel would only cut where the flower pot would cover.  I snipped the back lip of the flower pot since I needed space for the flower to move freely behind the pot as it "grew".

I then assembled the slider mechanism, gluing the very base of the flower to the slider, trimming this area to account for the smaller shape of the flower.  The sentiment is from Kindred Stamps.

For this stealthy ninja, I die cut the flower pot, trimming away the back lip of the pot again, and glued to the card with a hinge.  The hinge was merely a scrap of paper that I scored in half, gluing one portion to the bottom of the pot and the other section to the card so the pot would flip down.

Then, I die cut two of the larger flowers and one smaller flower from scrap paper as well as their matching flower centers.  I placed my ninja in place behind the flower pot and arranged the flowers above his head, adhering only the tops of the flowers to the card base, creating a lip for the ninja's head to be tucked behind.  I rolled a piece of tape to the back of the flower pot to keep it closed, allowing the little boy to remove his magnet ninja after receiving the card.
