When Christmas is rapidly approaching (and, yes, still several months away), it pays to start getting ready early. And for us handcraft-ers, early is not a bad thing! The last thing we want to do is stay awake all hours of the night preparing those last minute holiday orders. So, long story short, I am so grateful this order came early.
I used Stampin Up (Sizzix) Merry Tags Framelits dies to cut this open frame with the deer and trees and the backer piece (not seen in the above photo) from white cardstock. I did need to use a shim to get a clean cut using my Cuttlebug die cutting machine. I then proceeded to color the deer and trees with just two colors. I figured the shading wasn't really necessary in this case, and used G99 and E57 to add color to the deer, and tree tops and trucks.
Next, it was shimmer time! Using my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen in clear, I painted on that oh, so shimmery snow background to the backing pieces and let them dry. Then, it was just a matter of assembly - gluing the front piece to the back! This was a bit tedious, but not terribly so.
